Marvin J. Homan, CPA, CCIFP   |   Partner

Marvin joined the firm in 1992 and leads the firm’s Construction Services Group along with Jon Stangel. His primary focus and expertise is in providing accounting, tax, and consulting services unique to the construction industry. Marvin has received the Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) accreditation from the Certified Financial Management Association (CFMA). He also specializes in providing profit improvement services to companies.

 

Marvin graduated from Ohio Northern University and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), the Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA), and the Certified Financial Management Association (CFMA). He is past President of the Miami Valley CFMA. He is also involved with the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). Marvin currently serves as President of the Board of Education for the London City Schools Board of Education. Marvin also serves on the board of the London Community Organization.

Outside of work, Marvin enjoys sports, boating, and being involved with his kids’ sports teams.

 

Michael G. Wardley, CPA   |   Partner

Mike joined the firm in 1992 and is the firm’s recruiting director. Mike’s primary focus and expertise is in providing financial advice to manufacturers and contractors, while also handling the accounting and tax compliance work for various clients. Mike has also developed an expertise in training company employees to understand how their actions impact their company’s financial statements.

Mike is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA). Currently, Mike serves as Secretary/Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Senior Citizens Associates of New Carlisle.

Outside of work, Mike enjoys caddying for his son in golf tournaments, trying to play golf himself, playing with his grandkids, and having fun.

 

Gregg A. Devilbiss, CPA   |   Partner

Gregg joined the firm in 1999 and has over 27 years of national and local CPA experience. He provides tax and financial planning and advice for our closely-held business clients and directs our firm’s Tax Department. Gregg also participates in our Cost Segregation Group and Real Estate Consulting Services Group.

Gregg graduated from Wright State University and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), the Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA), and the Dayton Association of Tax Professionals. He is actively involved with TCN Health Services in Xenia and is current President of its Not-for-Profit Board. He is also on the Executive Board of Greene Giving and the Beavercreek Soccer Association.

Outside of work, Gregg likes to play golf and follow Ohio State University football.

 

Mark R. Smith, CPA   |   Partner

Mark joined the firm in 1997 and became a partner in 2007. Mark has over 20 years of experience working with closely-held businesses with focus areas including manufacturers, technology companies, and construction companies. Mark leads the firm’s Employee Benefit Plan Audit practice group and Non Profit practice group. He also leads and participates in the firm’s Peer Review Services team.

Mark attended the University of Dayton and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA). He is actively involved with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Ohio Valley Chapter and the United Way of Greater Dayton Community Partnership Council.

Outside of work, Mark volunteers his time at various non-profit and service organizations. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters and traveling.

 

Jon T. Stangel, CPA, ABV, CCIFP   |   Partner

Jon has been with the firm since 1998 and became a partner in 2008. His primary focus is in serving the construction, manufacturing and government contracting industries. Jon is co-director of the firm’s Construction Services Group and has received the Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) accreditation. He also directs the firm’s Business Valuation Group and has been accredited in Business Valuations by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).

Jon graduated from Ball State University and is a member of the AICPA, the Ohio Society of CPAs, the Certified Financial Management Association (CFMA), and the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). He is a 2008 graduate of Leadership Troy.

Outside of work, Jon enjoys helping coach his four kids sports’ teams, working on a quest to travel to all 50 states with his wife, and following Ohio State University sports.

 

Chris Snyder, CPA, CCIFP   |   Partner

Chris joined the firm in 2006 and became partner in 2017.  He works in a broad range of practice areas, including providing accounting, tax, and consulting services to clients in the construction and manufacturing industries. Chris received the Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) accreditation in 2014.  He also specializes in employee benefit plan audits and is part of the firm’s employee benefit plan audit group.

Chris graduated from Wright State University, where he also obtained his Masters of Accountancy. Chris was also a member and captain of the Wright State University baseball team from 2002-2006. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Ohio Society of CPAs.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys playing golf and softball, watching sports, and spending time with his family.

 

Nicholas Barley, CPA   |  Partner

Nick joined the firm in 2011 and works in a variety of practice areas including providing accounting, tax, and consulting services to clients in the construction, manufacturing, and distribution industries. Nick is a member of the firm’s Tax Department and is also a member of the firm’s Business Valuation Group.

Nick graduated from The Ohio State University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a specialization in Accounting. He received his CPA certification in 2012. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Ohio Society of CPAs.  He currently serves as Treasurer for Habitat for Humanity of Miami and Shelby County.

Outside of work, Nick enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and watching Ohio State sports.

 

Dan Lewis, CPA/ABV, CVA   |   Director of Business Valuation Services

Dan has been with the firm since 2016 and has over 20 years of diversified business valuation and advisory experience.  He is co-director of the firm’s Business Valuation Group and is Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).  Dan has also attained the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designation from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA).

Dan’s primary areas of valuation expertise include: mergers and acquisitions, estate and gift taxation, shareholder transactions, divorce, SBA financing, ownership transition planning, buy-sell agreements, shareholder disputes, and other tax, litigation, and corporate-related matters.

Prior to joining the firm, he was a partner in a financial consulting firm where he specialized in valuing privately held companies and providing litigation support services.

Dan attended the University of Cincinnati and is a member of the AICPA, Ohio Society of CPAs, and NACVA.  He is also a member of the AICPA’s Forensic and Valuation Services Section.

 

Steve Miller, CPA | Director of Assurance Services

Steve joined the firm in 2023 and works in a variety of practice areas including audit and accounting engagements, tax returns, and business advisory services to clients in the construction, manufacturing, and government contracting industries. Steve’s internal duties include the design and maintenance of quality control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the applicable professional standards, accounting research, and internal training.

Steve graduated from Wright State University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a dual major in Accounting and Finance. He received his CPA certification in 1998. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Ohio Society of CPAs.

Outside of work, Steve is an avid golfer, active in his church, and enjoys spending time with his family.

 

Kathryn Tolbert, CPA   |   Accounting Manager

Kathryn joined the firm in 2013 and works in a variety of practice areas, including providing accounting and tax services to clients in the construction, manufacturing, and distribution industries. Kathryn is also a member of the firm’s Not-for–Profit Services Group and provides audit and tax services for the firm’s not-for-profit clients.

Kathryn attended the University of Dayton where she earned her BSBA and MBA with a concentration in accounting. Kathryn is also a member of the Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA).

Outside of work, Kathryn enjoys traveling with her family, spending time with her husband and friends, being involved with local charities and fundraisers, and playing with her dog.

 

Betsy Courtright, CPA   |   Accounting Manager

Betsy joined the firm in 2018 coming from over 10 years of experience in public and private accounting. Betsy works in a variety of practice areas including providing accounting and assurance services to clients in the construction, manufacturing and government contracting industries. She also specializes in employee benefit plan audits and is part of the firm’s employee benefit plan audit group.

Betsy attended Wright State University where she earned her B.S.B. in Accountancy and Finance. She is also a member of the Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA).

Outside of work, Betsy enjoys playing outdoors with her kids and dogs, camping, and spending time with her family and friends.

 

Ryan Christmann, CPA   |   Accounting Manager

Ryan joined the firm in 2014 after graduating from Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio with Accounting and Finance Degrees. Ryan works in a variety of practice areas including providing accounting and tax services to clients in the construction, manufacturing, and distribution industries. He specializes in employee benefit plan audits and is part of the firm’s employee benefit plan audit group.

Ryan is involved in the firm’s marketing committee. He is also part of the firms construction group.

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys playing recreational sports, traveling, and going on adventures with his wife and kids.

 

Nikole Peoples, CPA   |   Tax Supervisor

Nikole joined the firm full-time in early 2019 after completing an internship with Kentner Sellers during the 2018 Busy Season. Nikole works in a variety of practice areas, including providing tax and accounting services to clients in the construction, manufacturing, and distribution industries.

Nikole studied at Wright State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Accountancy degrees. She received her CPA certification in 2020, and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Ohio Society of CPAs.

Outside of work, Nikole enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.

 

 Theresa Smith, CPA   |   Accounting Senior / Firm Administrator

Theresa attended Wright State University where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance, and is a member of the Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA).

Theresa joined the firm in 1998 coming from another local CPA firm. Theresa works in a variety of practice areas including providing accounting and tax services, and Peachtree and Quickbooks consulting services to clients in a variety of industries. Theresa has been a Quickbooks ProAdvisor for several years.

Outside of work, Theresa enjoys spending time with her family, baking, and volunteering at her church.

 

Cheryl Wills, EA   |   Accounting and Payroll Specialist

Cheryl joined the firm in 2022 coming from another local CPA firm. She brings with her over 25 years of experience. She provides accounting and payroll services to clients in various industries.

Cheryl attended Wright State University where she obtained her degree in Accounting.

Outside of work, Cheryl enjoys traveling and spending time with family playing games.

 

Kim Brandenburg, CPA   |   Accounting Senior

Kim has many years of experience in both public and private accounting. Kim re-joined the firm in 2020 after spending the previous 10 years in private accounting. Kim works in a variety of practice areas, including providing accounting and tax services to clients. Kim is a member of the firm’s Not-For-Profit Services Group, which provides audit and tax services for the firm’s not-for-profit clients and the firm’s Employee Benefit Plan Group, which provides audit services for employee benefit plans.

Kim attended Wright State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and her Master of Accountancy degrees. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA). Kim is also a Notary Public in the state of Ohio.

Outside of work, Kim enjoys spending time with her family and friends, spending time at the lake in the summer, and watching her two sons play sports. She also volunteers her time as the treasurer for the Miami County 4-H group which her sons are members of.

 

Elizabeth Ovel, CPA   |   Accounting Senior

Elizabeth joined the firm in 2019 after spending ten years in private accounting, most recently in the utility industry. Elizabeth works in a variety of practice areas, including providing accounting and tax services to clients in the construction, manufacturing, and distribution industries.

Elizabeth graduated from Sterling College with a concentration of Social Entrepreneurship. She also graduated with a B.S. degree in Accounting from Western Governors University in 2012.

Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and reading.

 

Lindsey Griffith    |   Accounting Senior

Lindsey joined the firm in 2020 after graduating from Lincoln Memorial University with a dual degree in Accounting and Finance.  Lindsey works in a variety of practice areas including providing accounting and tax services to clients in the construction, manufacturing, and distribution industries.

Outside of work, Lindsey enjoys playing sports, lifting, hiking, kayaking, and spending time with her family and friends.

 

Daniela Hedden, CPA   |   Tax Staff

Daniela joined the firm in 2021 coming from another local CPA firm. Daniela works in a variety of practice areas and focuses mainly on providing tax services to clients. Daniela graduated from Wright State University in 2016, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Daniela became a CPA licensed in the state of Ohio in January of 2018.

Outside of work, Daniela enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring new life experiences, listening to music and cuddling with her dog (Samson) and her guinea pig (Lucy).

 

Ryan Weeks  |   Tax Staff

Ryan joined the firm in 2021 after graduating from Wright State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Ryan works in a variety of practice areas, including providing tax and accounting services to clients in the construction, manufacturing, and distribution industries.

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys watching sports, golfing and playing basketball with friends, traveling, and spending time with his dogs.

 

Connor Glock   |   Accounting Staff

Connor joined the firm in the summer of 2024 after several years in private accounting. Connor graduated from Clark State College in 2022 with an AAB in Accounting and is nearing completion of his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Wright State University. Connor works in a variety of practice areas including providing accounting and tax services to clients in the construction, manufacturing, and distribution industries.

Outside of work, Connor enjoys playing video games, watching sports, and spending time with his friends and family.

 

Bryan Graham   |   Accounting Staff

Bryan joined the firm in the summer of 2023. Bryan graduated from Wright State University in 2019 with a Bachelor’s in Finance and earned his B.S in Accounting from Franklin University in 2023. Bryan works in a variety of practice areas including providing accounting and tax services to clients in the construction, manufacturing, and distribution industries.

Outside of work, Bryan enjoys disc golf, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.

Danielle Antos joined the firm in 2015 after working in various industries providing administrative assistance. Danielle assists the Partners and staff with administrative tasks and coordinates firm events.

Outside of work, Danielle enjoys taking her children camping and spending time with her family and friends.

 

Elizabeth Williams   |   Processing Department

Elizabeth Williams joined the firm in 2022 after spending over a decade providing administrative assistance in various industries in Georgia and Ohio. Elizabeth assists the Partners and Staff with administrative tasks. 

Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys PC Gaming, reading, and spending time with her husband, three cats, and two dogs.

April joined the firm in 2022 coming from another local CPA firm. She brings with her over 35 years of experience in the payroll business. April assists the Partners and Staff with administrative tasks and provides payroll services to clients in a variety of industries.
